Artist Nicole Emmons-Willis will lead an experimental hands-on animation workshop.
This workshop will combine puppetry, shadow plays, poems, and animation. Participants will create animated version of poems from the exhibition.
Nicole Emmons Willis' "Lady Parts" is an immersive site specific installation bringing to light the overutilization of hysterectomy in the treatment of fibroids as it explores the unknowns of female reproductive medicine.
During the exhibition visitors were invited to create poems about their uterus (or lack thereof). From these poems, Nicole Emmons-Willis and Erica Tschida created plays and shadow puppets using text from visitors.
Workshop is a $10 minimum donation. Participants are requested to bring a smart phone.
